Introducing Joel

The past five years have been pretty crazy, especially the last two. I have become a dedicated yogi and a healer, obsessed with education, nutrition, holistic health, natural medicine, plus mastering my body & mind. After spending years using parties, festivals, clubs etc, for escapism, meditation hit me like a ton of bricks. It was unavoidable from then on. Once I had what I believe was a “Kundalini awakening”, I was able to relieve myself and others of mental & physical pain. So I decided to study Reiki and soon discovered I had a natural gift for it.

After meeting some amazing friends on the dance floor it was pointed out to me how negative I sometimes was so I started to consciously try and raise my vibration from then onwards. Small random acts of kindness plus actively trying to stay positive has a phenomenal effect on your mental well-being, not to mention your vibration on the spiritual plane.

After watching as many documentaries as possible on ancient wisdom, science, nutrition, engineering, psychology, religion etc, this new knowledge and trying meditation paired with my newly opened mind gave me a much wider understanding of reality.

Before I went 90% sober (I am still human haha), after inducing various plant medicines, I started seeing geometric shapes and having really strong intuition. Then in August 2020 it happened, my hands just started to move by themselves, they went into prayer and were moving in and out hitting my 7 chakras. That very night I did what I was calling “a healing meditation” with the friend I was with.

A few days later I decided to try to do it again sober as I thought I was losing my mind but to my astonishment, it worked! My hands did the same thing and I burst into tears as I realised this meditation stuff I’d been experimenting with briefly, was real. From this point onwards I was doing self-Reiki regularly (Unbeknown to me at the time it was Reiki and I could go and study it properly).

In the 3 years that followed, with Reiki/meditation, I ….

  • Used meditation to relieve mental stress regularly 

  • Halved my asthma inhaler dosage (Symbicort 100/6 down from 200/6)

  • Went for 5 days without my inhaler 

  • Cured myself of hay fever (I was trying to cure asthma in meditation)

  • Relieved physical pain from multiple friend's 

Something that stands as a pin point moment, after becoming Yoga-obsessed for six months (the Yoga most likely heightened my healing abilities), in August 2022 at a festival, my friend was in a lot of pain in one leg and couldn’t walk. He had historic injuries on his legs from a bad work accident. My intuition stepped in and somehow I knew I could help. So I sat next to him and meditated, I asked for healing power and to absorb his pain, then after a few minutes of intense breathing and hand movements he stopped sweating, I started sweating and his pain was gone. This absolutely, astounded me, not to mention him!

Following on from this, I helped another five people in the same way before I left that festival. The day after I left, I booked my Reiki level 1 course, it was running on a day when there was a strike planned at my current place of work, it was so obviously meant to be!

Since my first Reiki course I have helped speed up healing times on a number of injuries, seen slight improvement on a family member with Alzheimer’s disease, removed chronic migraines, And much more. I’ve also used the Wim Hof breathing method, to heal parts of my body, get deeper in to Yoga stretches, and paired with cold water therapy even reversed hair loss.

Fast forward to May 2024. I have just returned from India after living in an ashram for two months and completing 500 hours of yoga teacher training, studying multiple forms of Yoga and healing, and living on organic sattvic vegetarian meals. I also managed to do my Reiki Master on my days off, and I’ve arrived back with a burning desire to teach.
